Women's Housing Caucus
The Women's Housing Caucus has reformed!  The group aims to promote Women's Housing Issues at both the State and National levels and to provide a forum for networking, information exchange, lobbying and advocacy.  A steering committee has been meeting monthly and a constitution and terms of reference for the group have been written.  Minutes from the previous meeting are available.  Go to their web page

South East Housing Network

As part of our current campaign to create branches across the state, Shelter’s current focus is on the South East.  Regional South Australia experiences some unique issues in contrast to metropolitan areas, for example as one participant in our latest visit stated ‘money isn’t the issue here, it’s that there is nowhere to live’.  The shortage of housing in this area is at crisis point.  There is also an acute shortage of crisis accommodation in rural areas particularly affecting young people.  Shelter SA is committed to working with interested parties in the South East and membership is growing.

The newsletter from the initial meeting is now available.
